On The Edge Rock Climbing Gym fills the needs of a new and rapidly developing niche within the health and recreation industry. Sport climbing is becoming firmly entrenched in America, and in recent years this country has become one of the leading advocates of the sport.
The concept for this gym was inspired by the lack of any climbing area within 90 -120 miles. The air conditioned environment, the accessibility, the hours, and a complete training center are some of the advantages of becoming a member.
On The Edge Rock Climbing Gym is located in Melbourne, Florida and is centrally located within Brevard County. The overall environment reflects sculpted rock-like formations with climbing routes of varying difficulties to insure the best training facility, and yet be accessible to all levels from novice to expert.
The beauty of an indoor climbing gym is the fact that you can go climbing regardless of the weather or time of day. You can practice your technique or take all levels of instructional climbing classes/clinics (OTE UNIVERSITY) without any chance of getting rained out. All the routes on the indoor walls are rated with the Yosemite Decimal System so you can chart your progress as you move up in route difficulty.
The routes change frequently with the addition or deletion of certain holds that the route setter deem appropriate. This will keep the members constantly challenged. You can expect some routes ranging from beginner to impossible.
Each time you visit the gym there may be a different route to explore. And don't think the climbing is any easier inside. The wall have rating up to 5.11 and higher that will definitely give you a challenging workout. Climbing shoes and harnesses will be available for rent.
